Horror icons Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, Suitable Flesh) and Dana DeLorenzo (Ash vs Evil Dead, 9-1-1: Lone Star) have officially joined the cast of the dark comedy Ruthie Joins a Death Cult. The film recently completed principal photography on half of its shoot, with the two genre favorites filming their first-ever shared screen time together in Burbank, CA.

Directed and co-written by Kyle Kenyon (Welcome to Wrexam, Everything is Terrible), and co-written, produced, and headlined by Nina Concepción (9-1-1: Lone Star), the project unites a diverse ensemble of rising comedy voices from UCB, Edinburgh Fringe, Dropout TV, and beyond. Cast members include Kimia Behpoornia, Jiavani, Courtney Pauroso, and Oscar Montoya, with producers Lauren Bennett (Louie, Baskets, Younger), Darryl Jones, Hillary Jones, and Sundance Film Festival alum Tara Hotchkis (Chasers).

Ruthie Joins a Death Cult embraces the independent filmmaking ethos, leaning into grassroots support and collaborative energy. The film blends sharp humor and unconventional storytelling, exploring human connection through an unusual lens.
