EuroObscura will present the Hungarian horror feature Bloody Night (Véres Éjszaka) to buyers at the upcoming American Film Market, following the release of its international trailer. The film blends supernatural horror, a cursed film-within-a-film, and brutal slasher thrills in a story where watching a movie can have deadly consequences.

The action unfolds in the historic Apollo Cinema in Debrecen, Hungary. Night watchman Lóránt Tompos, who hosts unofficial late-night screenings, finds a costume and a copy of an old horror movie in the theater’s basement. His colleague Simi warns that the film is cursed: thirty years ago, local director Ferenc Sumoski premiered it at the same cinema, and all six audience members were massacred before the director took his own life. Tompos shrugs off the legend and runs the film anyway, unleashing a chain of brutal events inside the building.

The film’s director calls it “a love letter to cinema, written in blood,” inspired by the Apollo’s vintage projectors, shadowy corridors, and the hometown theater itself. The aim was a claustrophobic slasher that recaptures the visceral fear of 1980s and 1990s horror. The 92-minute film is available in 4K with 5.1 audio.

Bloody Night premieres at the Apollo Cinema in Debrecen this October and opens theatrically in Hungary in February 2027. EuroObscura, an independent sales agency focused on European genre films founded in 2010, handles international sales.
