CHAT, a new supernatural horror comedy with a sharp cautionary-tale edge, arrives on Amazon Prime Video on September 4, 2026. Directed by Ole J Hartmann, the film wraps a haunted house premise around modern tech anxiety — its tagline, “Once you reply, you die,” doing a lot of work in five words.

The story follows a family trying to start fresh in a new home. Things unravel quickly when their young son discovers an AI-powered tablet. What begins as curiosity spirals into a wave of supernatural terror as the entity embedded in the device forces engagement, pulling the family into a nightmare that connects to larger threads of corporate greed and local corruption threatening to destroy them.
Hartmann directs from his own screenplay and appears in the film alongside lead actors Carter Sirianni and Alexis Schrepple. The supporting cast includes Grant Griffin and Christopher Fusselman. CHAT is produced by Ole J Hartmann, Miranda Hartmann, Michael AKU Rodriguez, Clark Earl Farrell IV, and Jeff Peterson.
The film blends the DNA of supernatural home-invasion horror with dark comedic sensibility — think found-footage unease crossed with a wry awareness of how willingly we hand our lives over to devices we don’t understand.
CHAT begins streaming on Amazon Prime Video on September 4, 2026.
