Dark Star Pictures has officially acquired U.S. distribution rights to DAYDREAMERS, a new Vietnamese vampire thriller from producer-director Timothy Linh Bui, known for “THREE SEASONS” and “GREEN DRAGON.” Marking a fresh milestone in Vietnamese genre cinema, DAYDREAMERS blends horror, thriller, and fantasy elements, offering a reimagined vampire lore set against the modern backdrop of Ho Chi Minh City.

The film will debut on May 2 with a limited theatrical run across 15 major U.S. markets, targeting cities with large Vietnamese diaspora audiences. An expanded rollout will follow, and a digital release is scheduled for June 3 on all major TVOD platforms. Dark Star Pictures, recognized for showcasing internationally diverse and bold films, has built anticipation by unveiling the official trailer.

DAYDREAMERS follows Nhat (Tran Ngoc Vang), a young vampire navigating a clandestine river community that avoids human blood to preserve its humanity. When his estranged brother Marco (Thuan Nguyen) reveals that vampires thrive in the city among humans, Nhat’s loyalty and survival are put to the test. Chi Pu takes on the role of Trieu, the ruthless vampire queen, while Trinh Thao stars as Ha, a rebellious schoolgirl who uncovers Nhat’s secret. Tensions escalate into an ultimate face-off as the city teeters on the edge of chaos.
