Johnny Depp (Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street) plays Ebenezer Scrooge in a take the studio pitches with the line, “The name you know, the story you don’t.” The holidays, it promises, begin with humbug.
The supporting cast includes Rupert Grint (Servant), Andrea Riseborough (Possessor), Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley, Arthur Conti, Ellie Bamber, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, and Charlie Murphy, along with Tramell Tillman (Severance) and Ian McKellen (The Lord of the Rings). Production stills released with the trailer show Tillman as the Ghost of Christmas Present, Grint as Bob Cratchit, and McKellen as Jacob Marley.
