Enchanted Parks is rolling out Halloween events at six of its theme parks this fall, pairing daytime family festivals with after-dark scare events packed with haunted mazes, scare zones, and live monster shows. The operator is also joining FARE’s Teal Pumpkin Project, offering allergy-safe, non-food trick-or-treating stops at all of its family-focused events.
The nighttime headliners stretch from New York to Minnesota. Fright Fest at Great Escape in Queensbury, New York, runs Saturdays and Sundays through October 25 with four haunted houses (Nightmare, Skull Manor, CarnEVIL, and Hell Block VI), three scare zones, and three new live shows, including PigFace, a blood-soaked mainstage show in which killer dolls come to life.
Fright Fest at Mid America Adventure in Eureka, Missouri, returns on select nights through November 1 with four mazes, including Gordy’s Gruesome Revenge and The Slaughter House, plus seven scare zones. This season also brings the final run of Love at First Fright, which closes after 32 seasons.
ValleyScare, billed as the Twin Cities’ largest Halloween event, runs select Fridays and Saturdays through October 31 at Valleyfair in Shakopee, Minnesota, with five original haunted houses, among them Berserkers: Valkyries’ Vengeance and Cryptidland, and four all-new scare zones. Halloween Haunt at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City packs 15 experiences into select nights through October 31, including three new scare zones and the new live show Spellbound.
“While we are heavy on the frights and jump scares, we did not forget our younger guests,” said James Harhi, chief executive officer, Enchanted Parks.
Families get Boo Fest, Tricks and Treats, Diggerfest at Diggerland USA, and Autumn Adventure at Water Safari, all with costume contests and trick-or-treating.
Admission to the Halloween events requires a Season Pass or theme park ticket, and hours vary by park. A buy-one-get-one ticket deal at Mid America Adventure and Worlds of Fun ends October 4. Full details are at enchantedparks.com.
