Netflix has announced a significant addition to the cast of its global hit series Wednesday: Eva Green will join Season 3 as Aunt Ophelia, the sister of Morticia Addams. Known for her roles in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and Dark Shadows, Green brings a distinct presence to the expanding Addams Family universe.

Series creators, showrunners, and writers Al Gough and Miles Millar shared their enthusiasm for the casting, noting Green’s strong screen identity and how it aligns with the character. “Eva Green has always brought an exhilarating, singular presence to the screen — elegant, haunting and beautifully unpredictable. Those qualities make her the perfect choice for Aunt Ophelia. We’re excited to see how she transforms the role and expands Wednesday’s world.”

Green expressed her excitement about joining the series: “I’m thrilled to join the woefully twisted world of Wednesday as Aunt Ophelia. This show is such a deliciously dark and witty world, I can’t wait to bring my own touch of cuckooness to the Addams family.”

Production details and additional casting information for Season 3 will be announced in the coming months. The series continues its strong viewership performance, with Season 2 debuting earlier this year and ranking as Netflix’s #4 most-watched English-language series. Season 1 remains the platform’s most-watched series of all time.
