Award-winning filmmaker Harley Wallen (Betrayed, Ash and Bone) and Painted Creek Productions have announced the upcoming red carpet premiere of Fathers, a psychological horror feature set to debut on May 28 at the historic Laemmle Theatre in Encino, California. A wide digital release through One Tree Entertainment follows on June 2 across the US and Canada.

Fathers follows a tangled web of trust, manipulation, and deception, where the line between protector and predator begins to blur. As hidden truths unravel and loyalties are pushed to the breaking point, the film asks a single unsettling question: what happens when the people meant to guide us are the ones leading us astray? The story arrives with Father’s Day timing by design — turning what is traditionally a moment of celebration into something reflective, even unsettling.

Kaiti Wallen (Beneath Us All) leads the cast alongside Jerry Hayes (Ash and Bone), Deon Hunt (Finding Nicole), Emilia Linnea (Tale of Tails), and Harley Wallen himself. Wallen wrote the screenplay and co-produced the film with Kaiti Wallen and Jeff Berry (Final Recovery), Leslie Mechigian (Chasing Hope), Joseph Williamson (The Devil’s Left Hand), Jason Faucher (Beneath Us All), Bradford Clark (Birth of a Savage), and Joseph Quick (If I Can’t Have You), alongside Unorthodox Outcast Studios and Deon Hunt of Hunt Genesis Production.

“We’re living in a time where perception often replaces truth, and narratives are shaped as much by emotion as by fact,” said Wallen. “This story leans into that discomfort. It asks the audience to question not just what they’re seeing, but why they believe it in the first place.”

Fathers opens May 28 at the Laemmle Theatre in Encino, with a wide digital release on June 2 via One Tree Entertainment. More information is available through Painted Creek Productions.
