Second Sight Films has announced a Standard Edition Blu-ray release of The Ginger Snaps Trilogy, bringing the beloved Canadian werewolf franchise to a wider audience when it arrives on May 25, 2026.

The set collects all three films in the cult series: Ginger Snaps (2000), Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed (2004), and Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning (2004). The trilogy centers on sisters Ginger and Brigitte Fitzgerald — played by Katharine Isabelle and Emily Perkins — whose already complicated adolescence takes a monstrous turn when Ginger is bitten by a werewolf. What unfolds across the three films is a sharp, blood-soaked exploration of female identity, transformation, and sisterhood that earned the franchise its enduring status as a cornerstone of feminist horror.
Ginger Snaps was directed by John Fawcett (Orphan Black), who helmed the original with a sharp eye for genre subversion. The sequels were directed by Brett Sullivan (Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed) and Grant Harvey (Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning), both working from screenplays by Karen Walton.
The Standard Edition Blu-ray arrives as a more accessible release following Second Sight’s sold-out Limited Edition box set. The release includes bonus features such as audio commentaries with director John Fawcett and writer Karen Walton, a new commentary by horror scholars Mary Beth McAndrews and Terry Mesnard, and new interviews including “A Blood Red Moon” with John Fawcett and “What Are You Wereing?” with producer Steve Hoban.
