MUBI has released a first look at Jane Schoenbrun’s upcoming feature Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, which is scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on August 7, 2026. Written and directed by Schoenbrun, the film marks the filmmaker’s third feature and continues their exploration of identity-focused storytelling within the horror space.

The cast is led by Emmy-winning actor Hannah Einbinder alongside Gillian Anderson, with additional performances from Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Quintessa Swindell, Kevin McDonald, and Jack Haven. The project is produced by Plan B, financed by MUBI, and will be distributed across multiple global territories, while The Match Factory oversees additional international sales.

The story centers on a long-running slasher franchise that is handed to a determined young director hoping to revive its legacy. Her visit with the original film’s reclusive star draws both women into a violent and surreal chain of events shaped by desire, fear, and obsession.
Schoenbrun previously gained recognition with I Saw the TV Glow, which premiered at Sundance in 2024 and continued on the festival circuit, earning several Independent Spirit Award nominations.
