Universal Pictures has announced Jurassic World Rebirth, the latest installment in the long-running dinosaur franchise, arriving three years after the close of the Jurassic World trilogy. This new entry marks a significant shift for the series, introducing a high-stakes mission set on an island once tied to the original Jurassic Park program.

The film stars Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett, a covert operations specialist tasked with leading an elite team to recover dinosaur DNA believed to hold life-saving medical potential. Joining her is Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid, a trusted team member, and Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, a paleontologist drawn into the mission’s deeper scientific implications.

Set five years after Jurassic World Dominion, the story unfolds in a world where most dinosaurs have retreated to isolated equatorial zones. The film’s plot centers on a top-secret extraction mission that collides with a shipwrecked family—led by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo’s Reuben Delgado—after their boat is attacked by aquatic dinosaurs. Both parties become stranded on a forbidden island that once housed a classified research facility.

There, amid a range of prehistoric species, they uncover a hidden truth that has remained buried for decades.

Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and written by David Koepp, screenwriter of the original Jurassic Park, Jurassic World Rebirth expands the franchise’s scope with an ensemble cast that includes Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein.

The film is produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, with executive production by Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart, and Jim Spencer.
