Paul Giamatti is set to star in the mystery horror film Boutique, written and directed by Jim Gavin, creator of AMC’s Lodge 49. Production is scheduled to begin in the UK in summer 2026.

The film follows American tourist Calvin, played by Giamatti, who travels to a remote English seaside town that once inspired his favorite reclusive author. What begins as a literary pilgrimage shifts course when Calvin becomes entangled with a secret society operating beneath the town’s surface.
Giamatti will also produce through Touchy Feely Films alongside Dan Carey. Additional producers include James Harris and Mark Lane for Tea Shop Productions and Guy Danella for XYZ Films, which will finance the project. Jacob Jaffke will serve as executive producer.
Known for performances in Sideways, American Splendor, John Adams, and Billions, Giamatti recently appeared in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy and an episode of Black Mirror. Boutique marks Gavin’s feature directorial debut and reunites him with Touchy Feely following their work on Lodge 49.
Production on Boutique begins in the UK in summer 2026.
