Netflix has released the official trailer for The Boroughs, an eight-episode supernatural horror series from executive producers Matt and Ross Duffer — the creative team behind Stranger Things — arriving on the platform on May 21, 2026.

Set in the sun-drenched New Mexico desert, The Boroughs takes place in a seemingly idyllic retirement community where something has gone very, very wrong. New arrival Sam Cooper (Alfred Molina, Paddington, Spider-Man: No Way Home) can feel it immediately — paradise feels more like a prison. When a terrifying nighttime encounter confirms that something monstrous is stalking the manicured streets, Sam is dismissed as just another confused old man. Undeterred, he assembles a group of overlooked, underestimated neighbors — a sharp former journalist, a spiritual seeker, a cynical music manager, a brilliant doctor — to uncover the dark truth before their time runs out.

The series is created and showrun by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance), with the Duffer Brothers and Hilary Leavitt executive producing through their Upside Down Pictures banner. The ensemble cast is extraordinary: Molina leads alongside Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, Clarke Peters, Bill Pullman, and genre legend Dee Wallace (Cujo, E.T., The Howling), with additional cast including Jena Malone, Ed Begley Jr., and Karan Soni.
The Boroughs arrives on Netflix May 21, 2026.
