AMC+ and Shudder have unveiled the trailer and key art for The Terror: Devil in Silver, the newest installment of the celebrated horror anthology series. The six-episode limited series debuts Thursday, May 7 on AMC+ and Shudder, with new episodes airing weekly, and will also air on AMC later this year.
Dan Stevens (Abigail, Downton Abbey) leads the series as Pepper, a working-class moving man whose combination of bad luck and a bad temper lands him wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital — an institution filled with those society would rather forget. Navigating a hellscape where nothing is as it seems, Pepper contends with patients working against him, doctors harboring grim secrets, and perhaps the Devil himself. The only path to freedom may be to confront the entity thriving on the suffering within New Hyde’s walls — but doing so might prove that the worst demons live inside him.
The Terror: Devil in Silver stars Dan Stevens alongside an acclaimed ensemble including Judith Light (Before, Out of My Mind), Aasif Mandvi (Evil, This Way Up), CCH Pounder (Rustin, NCIS: New Orleans), Hampton Fluker (Shades of Blue, Instant Family), Chinaza Uche (Silo, A Good Person), Stephen Root (Barry, Heads of State), and Marin Ireland (Sneaky Pete, Glass Chin), among others.
The series is executive produced by Ridley Scott, writers and showrunners Chris Cantwell (Halt and Catch Fire) and Victor LaValle (The Changeling) — the author of the celebrated novel on which the season is based — alongside Emmy nominee Karyn Kusama (Yellowjackets), who directs the first two episodes. Stevens also serves as executive producer.
“One of the most promising horror shows to sail our way in ages,” Rolling Stone said of The Terror Season 1. Previous seasons tackled a doomed British naval expedition through the Arctic and haunting events inside a Japanese-American internment camp during World War II — both now streaming on AMC+ and Shudder.
The Terror: Devil in Silver premieres Thursday, May 7 on AMC+ and Shudder.
