Universal Destinations & Experiences has officially announced that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be one of four haunted houses featured in its new year-round attraction, Universal Horror Unleashed, opening August 14, 2025, at the AREA15 District in Las Vegas.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre at Universal Horror Unleashed
For the first time, the events of the 1974 horror classic will be recreated in a linear haunted house experience. Guests will follow the path of the film’s original victims, beginning at a rural Texas cemetery before navigating key scenes including the infamous gas station and the Sawyer family home. Leatherface and his disturbing family will appear throughout the walkthrough, supported by the immersive use of sound, lighting, and themed environments.

The haunted house is one of several experiences within the Kill Vault zone, a themed area within Universal Horror Unleashed that includes live character interactions, horror-themed culinary offerings, and “Rough Cuts” — a food and entertainment space offering small plates and staged performances. Guests can interact with original characters, including slashers and surgeons, while learning their twisted backstories.

Universal Horror Unleashed marks Universal’s first permanent horror destination outside of its theme parks. The attraction will feature four haunted houses in total: Universal Monsters, The Exorcist: Believer, Scarecrow: The Reaping, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The experience will also offer themed bars, food venues, and a retail store with exclusive merchandise.

Tickets for the Las Vegas-based horror attraction are now available for purchase.
