Universal Studios Hollywood has announced Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, a new high-speed outdoor roller coaster set to open in 2026. The coaster will reach speeds up to 72 MPH, making it the fastest ride in the Universal Destinations & Experiences global portfolio.
Currently under construction, the attraction is designed to reflect the energy and aesthetic of Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious franchise. The 4,100-foot track will feature advanced ride technology, including 360-degree rotating ride vehicles that simulate the drift-style racing seen in the films. Guests will board vehicles modeled after franchise icons, including Dominic Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger, which is already on display at the park.
The track will span multiple areas of the theme park, weaving above sections such as the iconic escalator that connects the Upper and Lower Lots. The ride will be anchored in a garage-style queue area, keeping with the street-racing theme.
Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Strobl described the new ride as a major addition to the park’s lineup. “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be a powerful game changer for Universal Studios Hollywood,” Strobl stated.
