Las Vegas audiences will experience the long-running cult phenomenon Urban Death when Urban Death Vegas makes its debut at Vegas Theatre Company on October 4, 2025. The production marks the 20th anniversary of Zombie Joe’s Underground’s groundbreaking horror stage show.
Presented by Las Vegas Horror Show, the creative team behind the hit production Abandon, Urban Death Vegas combines wordless vignettes with striking visuals, an original soundtrack, and a mix of psychological tension, grotesque imagery, and dark humor. The New York Times has noted the series’ distinct approach to horror theatre, placing it in a category of its own.
Created by Zombie Joe and Jana Wimer in 2005, Urban Death first shocked audiences in Los Angeles and has since played in New York City, Cape Town, and at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Wimer, now a Las Vegas resident, will direct the new production, bringing two decades of experience to the stage.
“Urban Death is about revealing fears through performance, sound, and imagination,” Wimer says. “I’m honored to work with Las Vegas’s incredible talent and excited to bring this vision to the city.”
Vegas Theatre Company Executive Artistic Director Daz Weller emphasized the success of the previous collaboration on Abandon, calling it the company’s most successful production to date. “This fall, we’re thrilled to be working with the same creative team to bring Urban Death Vegas to our stage,” Weller shared.
Rated R, Urban Death Vegas is not recommended for anyone under 17 without a parent or guardian. Performances begin October 4, 2025, at Vegas Theatre Company. Fans of the series can also experience Urban Death: Tour of Terror at Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre in North Hollywood, running weekends October 3 through November 1, 2025, featuring a haunted maze paired with the live show.
