Solo developer Last Dissent has announced Drink Human Beans, a dystopian psychological horror game arriving on PC via Steam on December 17 at 8:00 PM UK time. The project blends dark satire with immersive-sim design, placing players inside a corporate simulation where coffee consumption, obedience, and personal worth are closely monitored.

Set within an apartment controlled by the omnipresent Y.AI Corp, the game follows an unnamed applicant trapped in what initially appears to be a routine job evaluation. As days repeat, the environment reveals itself to be a controlled simulation that rewards compliance and penalizes curiosity. Everyday tasks, including coffee deliveries managed by a sentient machine, become part of a larger system designed to test loyalty through manipulation, blackmail, and violence.

As players explore the space, hidden systems and puzzles emerge, encouraging rule-breaking rather than obedience. Progress is shaped by choices that challenge authority, with multiple endings determined by what the player refuses to accept rather than what they are instructed to do. While framed as a walking simulator, Drink Human Beans incorporates moments of violence intended to reinforce moral consequence rather than empowerment.

DRINK HUMAN BEANS - Release Date - Cinematic Trailer

Behind its surreal humor, the game presents a critique of corporate culture, digital conformity, and modern capitalism. Drawing inspiration from speculative fiction and social theory, Drink Human Beans uses its interactive structure to question how systems of control reshape identity and agency.
