It’s mid-september which means that the Halloween season is in full swing! The must attend event on Mommy Fearist’s list is Knott’s Spooky Farm. The ghouls and shopkeepers materialize in Ghost Town on September 29th and keep the fun happening on weekends through October 28th. Of course, they will be awaiting your little ghouls on Halloween day too!
We always look forward to the costumed kids wandering around the park as they trick or treat throughout Calico Park and Camp Spooky. This year the trick or treat stations have expanded into Mission Row!
The highlight of Spooky Farm goes to the Peanuts Gang in their own festive costumes and always ready for photo ops. Don’t miss the costume contest or your favorite Peanuts friends in “The Monsters are Coming, Charlie Brown” located in Camp Spooky.
New shows debut this season, including a magician that will beguile kids and adults alike in the Calico Saloon. Then head over to one of Mommy Fearist’s favorite locations on the farm, The Birdcage Theater, for a “Spooky Story Time” featuring “eerie tales” that capture the sprit of Halloween.
For those who love the crawly creatures, Stanley Scarecrow is back again at the Livery Stables in Ghost Town proper with his “Creepy Critters of Calico.” Spiders, Scorpions, and Snakes…OH MY!
Last year my kids were enchanted with the Grand Sierra Railroad’s “A Trip to Camp Spooky” so I am thrilled that it is coming back again this year. The attraction winds guests through a Halloween adventure with cute surprises on the journey.
Then there’s the Halloween Hootenanny at the Timber Mountain Log Ride. An homage to everything we love about Halloween with beloved icons of the season and pumpkins galore. Guests 36″ can ride with a parent but the taller kids 46″ and above can take a ride by themselves.
