This fall, Southern California theme parks are rolling out seasonal celebrations perfect for families seeking daytime Halloween and autumn festivities. Both Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain will offer unique experiences that highlight the season with a mix of classic traditions and new attractions.
At Knott’s Spooky Farm, running Thursdays through Sundays from September 25 to October 31 (plus Columbus Day, October 13), guests can enjoy trick-or-treating through Ghost Town, costume contests, pumpkin decorating, and original live shows. Highlights include the Bob Baker Marionette Theatre’s spooky puppet show at Birdcage Theatre and Snoopy’s Spooktacular Costume Party at Calico Mine Stage. Families can also meet Creepy Critters at the Calico Livery Stable and enjoy the return of Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies on stage. All activities are included with park admission.
Across town at Six Flags Magic Mountain, two seasonal events bring daytime entertainment to the forefront. New for 2025 is Tricks and Treats, a Halloween celebration designed for younger guests. From September 26 to November 2, families can explore the Trick-or-Treat Trail in Bugs Bunny World, meet Looney Tunes characters in seasonal costumes, and say hello to the park’s new original character, Willoughby the Bat. Taking place during daylight hours, the event offers a no-scare Halloween option that’s included with park admission.’
Also returning to Six Flags Magic Mountain is Oktoberfest presented by Cash App, held Fridays through Sundays from September 26 through November 2. Inspired by centuries-old Bavarian tradition, Oktoberfest pairs roller coaster thrills with authentic German fare and beverages. Guests can enjoy bratwurst, Bavarian pretzels, Franzbrötchen pastries, and live entertainment at The Pub, alongside games and festive competitions.
With seasonal décor, interactive family programming, and included admission, both Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain offer accessible ways for families to celebrate fall in Southern California.
