Here we are, face to face with the teaser and poster for the brand new, re-imagined, reboot of Saw entitled SPIRAL: From the Book of Saw. The new film with a story by, executive produced and starring Chris Rock, furthers the mythos of the SAW franchise, taking it into a new direction. While the plot details are being kept under wraps, we see here that Rock stars as Det. Zeke Banks who begins following a series of puzzling murders. Director Darren Lynn Bousman returns to the franchise to guide this well-worn property to what is hoped to be frightening new territory.

Even with the release of the poster and trailer, very little about the plot has been revealed. So, until we get more info, enjoy the trailer, sure to be mined for countless easter eggs.

Spiral (2020 Movie) Teaser Trailer – Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson

First off, Samuel L. Jackson. Yes. We are in. All done. With that said, we seem to have a buddy cop movie here with Rock as the wiser, if not totally hardened detective. This iteration also appears to be more grounded than the other, over-the-top installments. Will we get nasty traps, moral dilemmas, and tons of rapid-fire editing? No one knows at this point. Things are, however, looking good. Say what you will about Bousman, but he makes a good looking movie. Let’s pray that he was given the budget to match his vision.
