Documentary filmmaker and ufologist James Fox returns to the subject of alleged extraterrestrial encounters with Moment of Contact: New Revelations of Alien Encounters, an expanded edition of his 2022 film. The updated version will be released digitally on December 22.
Fox, known for The Phenomenon, I Know What I Saw, and The Program, revisits the 1996 Varginha incident in Brazil—often referred to as the “Roswell of Brazil.” The new edition introduces previously unseen testimony, including an account from Dr. Italo Venturelli, then head neurosurgeon at the Regional Hospital in Varginha, who describes a brief face-to-face interaction with a captured non-human entity.
The expanded film also reflects developments since the original release, including recent U.S. congressional hearings on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP). Fox traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend these hearings and secured commentary from aerospace engineer Dr. Eric Davis, who has publicly discussed alleged crash retrieval and recovered biologics programs.
In addition, Fox and his team conducted new interviews in Varginha with the city’s former police chief, forensic pathologists, and other witnesses connected to the case. Together, these elements broaden the scope of Moment of Contact, positioning the updated film as a continuation of Fox’s ongoing examination of eyewitness testimony and government acknowledgment surrounding UFO and UAP claims.
