Sam Raimi’s 1981 horror landmark Evil Dead will trade its cabin-in-the-woods isolation for packed theaters this autumn when Evil Dead In Concert launches a nearly 50-city U.S. tour on September 22 in Buffalo, NY. Produced by Black Ink Presents (a Terrapin Station Entertainment and Sony Music division), the live-to-film event screens a newly restored print of the movie while an on-stage ensemble performs composer Joe LoDuca’s original score in real time.

Highlights include a three-night Halloween engagement in Los Angeles and the chance for fans nationwide to experience LoDuca’s mix of ominous strings, driving percussion, and experimental sound design exactly as Ash’s chainsaw revs on screen. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 13, via EvilDeadInConcert.com.

LoDuca, whose first film credit was Evil Dead, says the tour offers “an intense, aural descent into hell” as his Emmy-winning career comes full circle. Black Ink Presents, known for live presentations of Labyrinth, Ghostbusters, and The Nightmare Before Christmas, promises “cinematic chaos, demonic energy, and killer sounds” as screams meet strings night after night.
