Halloween Horror Nights is bringing the world of Fortnite to this year’s event with a brand-new scare zone inspired by Fortnitemares, the game’s annual Halloween celebration. The interactive experience will debut at Universal Orlando Resort beginning August 28 and at Universal Studios Hollywood starting September 3.

Drawing inspiration from Fortnite’s seasonal event, the new scare zone transports guests into Freaky Fields, a Halloween-themed battleground where an unknown force has taken over the landscape. As guests make their way through the area, they’ll encounter the iconic Battle Bus, recognizable Fortnitemares characters, and several original creations developed exclusively for Halloween Horror Nights.
The scare zone is designed to capture the atmosphere of Fortnitemares by blending familiar locations, characters, and gameplay-inspired moments into a live entertainment experience. Fans of the game can expect references to the annual in-game event while navigating the evolving environment and its roaming creatures.
Universal has also released a collection of merchandise celebrating the new scare zone. Available now at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, the lineup includes a graphic T-shirt, decal set, and acrylic collectible. The collection will also become available through ShopUniversal.com beginning Thursday, July 23, at 9:00 a.m. PST.
With Fortnitemares joining this year’s lineup, Halloween Horror Nights continues to expand its mix of gaming, film, and original concepts, giving both Fortnite players and Horror Nights fans another experience to explore during the event’s 2026 season. Grab tickets here.
