Michael Sargent returns to the stage this May with CHEAT DAYS, a limited four-performance theatrical event at Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group in North Hollywood.

Running May 22, 23, 29, and 30 at 8:30 p.m., the production features two new mini-comedies from Sargent titled THE GOLDEN FLEECE and MT. WASHINGTON. The performances will take place at the ZJU Theatre Group venue on Lankershim Boulevard.
According to the production announcement, THE GOLDEN FLEECE revisits the stars of the 1945 noir film Detour, with Brad Lewis portraying Tom Neal and Jacqueline Wright portraying Ann Savage. The companion piece, MT. WASHINGTON, centers on a swimming invitation at a famous actor’s home that quickly unravels. Brian Newkirk stars as “The Actor,” while Sargent himself appears as “The Writer.”
The cast includes Brad Lewis, Brian Newkirk, Michael Sargent, and Jacqueline Wright. The production is written and directed by Sargent and produced by Zombie Joe.
Sargent first emerged from playwright John Steppling’s writing workshop during the 1980s and has remained active within the Los Angeles theater scene for decades. His work has appeared at venues including the Actor’s Gang, Evidence Room, Unknown Theatre, and the Kirk Douglas Theatre. The announcement also notes that the film adaptation of Sargent’s play I HATE! is scheduled to debut later this year.
CHEAT DAYS is intended for audiences 18 and older and contains mature themes, language, and nudity. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
