Blumhouse has released the official trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, a follow-up to the 2023 box-office hit that became the highest-grossing horror film of the year. Returning to direct is Emma Tammi, with the screenplay once again penned by series creator Scott Cawthon. The film opens exclusively in theaters on December 5.
A year after the supernatural events at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, local legend has turned tragedy into tourist attraction as the town prepares for its first-ever Fazfest. Former security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) have tried to protect Mike’s younger sister Abby (Piper Rubio) from the truth about what really happened. But when Abby sneaks out to reunite with her animatronic friends—Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy—she sets off a chain of events that uncover new horrors and buried secrets surrounding the origin of Freddy’s.
The sequel brings back fan favorites alongside a new cast that includes Freddy Carter (Shadow and Bone), Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park), Mckenna Grace (Annabelle Comes Home), and Skeet Ulrich (Scream). Matthew Lillard returns as William Afton, joined again by Theodus Crane as Jeremiah.
Produced by Jason Blum and Scott Cawthon, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 marks the next chapter in Blumhouse’s growing franchise, with Emma Tammi also serving as executive producer.
