Well Go USA has announced the upcoming release of SHAMAN, a new supernatural horror film directed by Antonio Negret. The film will debut in select theaters and on digital platforms on August 8, 2025.
SHAMAN follows a missionary family in rural Ecuador whose mission is upended after their son enters a forbidden cave and returns possessed by an ancient malevolent spirit. As the family struggles to save the boy, Candice (played by Sara Canning) turns to Catholic exorcism rites for help. However, the local shamans warn that the entity predates her religion—and must be confronted on its own terms.
Written by Daniel Negret, the film stars Sara Canning, Daniel Gillies, Jett Klyne, Humberto Morales, and Alejandro Fajardo. Drawing on cultural and religious tensions, SHAMAN explores the limits of belief when faced with forces beyond doctrine.
The film will be available both theatrically and on digital platforms beginning August 8.
