Universal Studios Hollywood has tapped Grammy® Award-winning guitarist and songwriter SLASH for a new slate of Halloween Horror Nights offerings when the event returns Thursday, September 4. The collaboration includes an original score for the haunted house Scarecrow: Music by SLASH, an exclusive vinyl-only album release, and a SLASH-themed bar on site.

Scarecrow: Music by SLASH marks the seventh consecutive year the artist has scored a Universal Studios Hollywood haunted house. The maze centers on Mother Nature’s retribution against homesteaders, carried out by mute scarecrows turned enforcers. SLASH approached the composition like a film score, building cues for each scene to heighten tension as guests move through the attraction.

The park will also release SLASH: Music of Universal Studios Hollywood – Halloween Horror Nights, Volume 2, a vinyl-only album compiling original tracks he’s created over the past six years. The record includes a tribute from John Murdy, Creative Director and Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights, and will be sold at the park.

The score for SLASH: Music of Universal Studios Hollywood – Halloween Horror Nights, Volume 2, is as follows:

SIDE A

“The Hunted Becomes The Hunter” 4:21 (Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives 2021)
“Monsters, Maniacs, and Madmen” (Universal Monsters Medley 2021) 5:08 (Universal Monsters 2018)
“The Blood is Life” 3:38 (Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives 2021)

Jurassic Cove will host the new SLASH Bar, serving cocktails inspired by his music—such as “The Danse of the Dead” and “Beautiful Dangerous”—plus a non-alcoholic “SLASH’s Snakepit.” Food items include Chicken Satay Tacos, Thai Beef Tacos, Thai Curry Tacos, and a SLASH Hat cake. A SLASH scare-actor, modeled after a character he created, will roam the area. (Guests must be 21+ with valid ID to purchase alcohol.)
