Bayview Entertainment has officially released the trailer for the upcoming Italian horror film, Monkey Boy, directed by Antonio Monti. The film stars Giampiero Bartolini, Gianni Fantoni, and Giovanna Gardelli and brings a unique giallo-style horror story to life.
Set in a remote countryside, Monkey Boy tells the story of a mysterious character who has spent his entire life confined to a cellar. Upon the death of his keeper, an elderly woman, he is thrust into the outside world for the very first time. The story unfolds over the course of a single night, introducing viewers to Agata, a young autistic girl who appears to be the only person able to connect with the titular character.
Monkey Boy dives into themes of isolation, human connection, and the darkness that can be found in seemingly ordinary people. This atmospheric film presents a range of unusual characters, painting a picture of society from the perspective of an outsider. The film promises to deliver an eerie and evocative exploration of the horror genre, one night in the life of a misunderstood figure.
Bayview Entertainment, known for distributing a wide array of independent and international films, has yet to announce the official release date for Monkey Boy.
