Midsummer Scream will return to the Long Beach Convention Center from August 7–9, 2026, bringing thousands of Halloween and horror fans together for three days of panels, haunted attractions, special guests, and immersive experiences. Passes for the annual convention are now available.

The 2026 theme, “Horror Musicals,” will highlight the intersection of theatrical storytelling and genre cinema. This year’s event poster, painted by pop-culture artist Stephen Andrade, draws inspiration from productions such as The Phantom of the Opera, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Thriller.

As part of the theme, Lionsgate will present a celebration of the 20th anniversary of Repo! The Genetic Opera. Director Darren Lynn Bousman and actor Bill Moseley are confirmed to attend, with additional guests expected to be announced.

Other scheduled celebrity guests include Matthew Lillard, Barry Bostwick, and Jasmin Savoy Brown.

A centerpiece of the convention, the Hall of Shadows will once again transform a large section of the convention center into an indoor haunt experience featuring installations from groups such as Eulogy Collective, Fear Farm, Straite to Hale Productions, H&L’s Realm of Horror, The Dreich Society, CalHauntS, and Decayed Brigade.

The convention will also feature panels and presentations from major Halloween attractions including Halloween Horror Nights, Knott’s Scary Farm, and Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group.

More than 350 vendors and artists are expected on the show floor, offering costumes, collectibles, artwork, and seasonal decor. Additional returning features include Paranormal Pixie’s Pumpkin Patch, Casa Calaveras, the Black Cat Lounge kitten adoption center, and the Screaming Room Film Festival presented by HorrorBuzz.
