A new image has been released for Hokum, the upcoming supernatural feature written and directed by Damian McCarthy. The film, led by Adam Scott, is set to arrive in theaters on May 1, 2026.

Hokum follows a horror writer who travels to a secluded Irish inn to scatter his parents’ ashes. Once there, he learns the property is believed to be haunted by a witch, setting the stage for a tense stay marked by unsettling folklore and the lingering presence of the inn’s past.

The supporting cast includes David Wilmot, Austin Amelio, and Florence Ordesh, adding depth to the film’s isolated setting and its exploration of local legend. McCarthy, known for his precise approach to tension and atmosphere, appears poised to bring another tightly crafted tale to the screen.

This early look offers the first visual hint at the tone audiences can expect when Hokum premieres next spring.
