Netflix has announced three new guest stars joining Wednesday for its third season: Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, The Abandons), Andrew McCarthy (St. Elmo’s Fire, Brats), and James Lance (Ted Lasso, Black Mirror). Production on the new season is currently underway near Dublin, Ireland.
The casting additions join a growing roster of new faces for Season 3. Previously announced newcomers include Eva Green (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Dark Shadows), Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Stranger Things), Chris Sarandon (The Princess Bride), Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders, Game of Thrones), Oscar Morgan (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), and Kennedy Moyer (Task, Roofman). Returning series regulars Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Luis Guzmán are all expected back.
Details on character roles and the season’s storyline have not yet been released. Wednesday is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery set at Nevermore Academy, created and executive produced by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar with Tim Burton directing and executive producing. The series is produced by MGM Television for Netflix.
Season 1 remains the most-watched English-language series in Netflix history, and Season 2 debuted last year as the fifth most-watched English-language series of all time on the platform. With a cast of this caliber assembled for Season 3, expectations are running high.
