Ignite Films has announced its upcoming 2027 4K restoration slate at the Fantastic Pavilion at the Marché du Film in Cannes, and it is stacked. The boutique label is set to bring four cult horror classics to 4K Ultra HD, headlined by Brian Yuzna’s body horror masterpiece Society and the iconic 1972 supernatural chiller Horror Express.

Leading the slate is Society (1989), targeted for release in early 2027. Brian Yuzna’s (Re-Animator, Bride of Re-Animator) notorious Beverly Hills body horror follows a troubled teenager who uncovers a grotesque world of privilege and biological depravity lurking behind his wealthy family’s polished facade. With groundbreaking practical effects by Screaming Mad George, Society remains one of the most singular and disturbing cult films of the decade. Also slated for 4K treatment is Horror Express (1972), directed by Eugenio Martín and starring Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, and Telly Savalas in a genre-blending nightmare aboard the Trans-Siberian Express.

Rounding out the announced 2027 lineup are Bloody Birthday (1981), directed by Ed Hunt, the creepy-kid slasher about three children born during a solar eclipse who grow up to kill without remorse, and Ted Post’s (Hang ‘Em High) deeply unsettling cult oddity The Baby (1973), in which a social worker becomes obsessed with a disturbing case involving a man still treated as an infant by his manipulative family.

“It’s incredibly exciting to continue building our release slate with films from the libraries of Ignite Films and Eagle Rock Pictures,” said Jan Willem Bosman Jansen of Ignite Films. “Here at the Marché, we’re looking forward to discovering exciting new library titles from around the world.”

The announcement follows a strong recent run for Ignite. The label’s Re-Animator 40th Anniversary 4K release received a 2026 Saturn Award nomination for Best Classic Film Home Media Release, and Bride of Re-Animator arrives in 4K in June 2026.
