Apple TV+ has released the first teaser for Cape Fear, a new psychological horror thriller series set to premiere globally on June 5, 2026. The 10-episode limited series will debut with its first two episodes on launch day, followed by new episodes every Friday through July 31.

Created and showrun by Nick Antosca, the series is executive produced by Academy Award winners Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg. Amy Adams and Javier Bardem both star in the series and also serve as executive producers. Patrick Wilson joins them as part of the central cast, with Joe Anders, Lily Collias, Malia Pyles, and CCH Pounder rounding out the ensemble.

Inspired by the 1991 film directed by Scorsese and produced by Spielberg, the series revisits the story of attorneys Anna and Tom Bowden, played by Adams and Wilson. Their lives are disrupted when Max Cady, portrayed by Bardem, is released from prison after serving time for a crime connected to the couple. Seeking revenge, Cady’s return places the Bowden family under growing threat.

The series draws from the novel The Executioners, which previously inspired the 1962 film starring Gregory Peck as well as the 1991 remake.

Produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Amblin Television, the project is developed through Antosca’s overall deal with UCP. Antosca executive produces alongside Alex Hedlund for Eat the Cat, while Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey produce for Amblin Television. Academy Award nominee Morten Tyldum directs the pilot and also serves as an executive producer.
