Production is now underway in Atlanta, Georgia for SCOOBY-DOO: ORIGINS, the official title of the upcoming live-action series from Netflix. The project revisits the early days of Mystery Inc., offering a modern reimagining of the well-known group and their first major case.

The series stars Mckenna Grace as Daphne Blake, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, alongside Paul Walter Hauser. The story centers on a group of teens during their final summer at camp, where a mystery involving a lost Great Dane puppy draws them into a case tied to a possible supernatural murder.

As the investigation unfolds, the group—including the pragmatic Velma and newcomer Freddy—must navigate a series of events that begin to reveal personal secrets. The narrative positions the formation of Mystery Inc. against a backdrop of escalating tension and uncertainty.

The series is led by showrunners and writers Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, working under Midnight Radio. Executive producers include Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Adrienne Erickson, with Toby Haynes directing the first episode.

With more than five decades of history across film and television, the Scooby-Doo franchise continues to expand with this latest adaptation focused on its origins.
