Cineverse and its horror division, Bloody Disgusting, have acquired North American VOD and streaming rights to Self-Help, the new psychological thriller from filmmaking brothers Erik and Carson Bloomquist. The film will open in theaters nationwide on Halloween, following special “Mischief Night Sneak Previews” on October 30, before arriving digitally in early 2026 through Cineverse.

Self-Help follows a college student who infiltrates a secretive self-actualization community after her mother becomes involved with its enigmatic “anti-cult” leader. The story explores manipulation, identity, and obsession within an insular group promising empowerment but harboring darker intentions.

The film stars Jake Weber (Dawn of the Dead, Medium), Landry Bender (Looking for Alaska, The Sitter), Madison Lintz (Bosch, The Walking Dead), and Amy Hargreaves (Homeland, Blue Ruin), with supporting performances from Carol Cadby, Blaque Fowler, Adam Weppler, and Erik Bloomquist. Casting was led by Nick Peciaro, CSA.

Written by the Bloomquist brothers and produced through their Mainframe Pictures banner, the film also lists Amy Hargreaves, Landry Bender, Tyler LaValley, Jerry Daigle, William Kay, and Chris Woodward as co-producers. The deal for North American rights was negotiated between WTFilms partner Gregory Chambet and Dan Fisher, Vice President of Acquisitions at Cineverse. WTFilms represents worldwide rights, with additional distribution confirmed for Latin America via Encripta and Scandinavia through Njuta Films.

“The tireless team of genre fanatics at Cineverse have built a thrilling ecosystem, and we’re eager to contribute to their uncompromising filmography,” said directors Erik and Carson Bloomquist. Cineverse described the film as embodying “everything we love about horror: fearless storytelling, visceral gore, and disturbing imagery that stays with you long after the credits roll.”
