Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have announced that John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando will launch on March 12, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The date was revealed during the 2025 Game Awards with a new trailer showcasing the game’s high-energy zombie combat and ’80s action-horror inspiration.

Inspired by the filmmaker’s signature genre sensibilities, Toxic Commando transports players to a near-future disaster triggered by an experimental energy project gone wrong. The failed attempt to tap into the Earth’s core transforms the land into sludge and unleashes waves of undead creatures. To fix the catastrophe, scientist Leon Dorsey assembles a team—not of elite operatives, but of affordable recruits known as the Toxic Commandos.

The game features four-player cooperative gameplay with full crossplay support across all platforms. Players will traverse semi-open wastelands, clearing hordes of monsters with customizable weapons, explosives, special abilities, and vehicles capable of plowing through enemy swarms. The emphasis is on teamwork—coordinating attacks, combining abilities, and using vehicles strategically to survive large-scale encounters.

Two editions are available for pre-order: the Standard Edition and the Blood Edition. All pre-orders include the Leon’s Secret Stash DLC at no additional cost. The Blood Edition enhances the base game with the Bloody Pass, which includes two post-launch DLC packs featuring cosmetic skins for characters, weapons, and vehicles, as well as an exclusive cosmetic bundle.

Saber Interactive also confirmed ongoing post-launch support, with free updates planned to introduce new missions, enemies, weapons, and vehicles.
