The annual Winter Haunts event returns for its fourth year on Saturday, November 15, 2025, offering a full day of online programming devoted to ghost stories and Gothic fiction. Running from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., the event once again brings together an impressive lineup of authors, editors, and writing instructors for interviews, panels, and workshops—all accessible from home.

A collaboration between Writing Magazine and Alex Davis Events, this year’s Winter Haunts features headline guests including Michelle Paver (Dark Matter, Thin Air), Emilia Hart (Weyward, The Sirens), Bridget Collins (The Binding, The Betrayals), C.J. Cooke (The Lighthouse Witches), Jess Kidd (Things in Jars), Lucy Rose, Emma Glass, and Hollie Starling. Workshop sessions will be led by experienced authors and tutors such as Tiffani Angus, Tom Carlisle, Polly Hall, Ashley Stokes, Teika Marija Smits, and Kit Whitfield, each offering craft-focused insight into writing supernatural and Gothic narratives.

Event coordinator Alex Davis described the program as one of his yearly highlights, while Writing Magazine editor Tina Jackson emphasized its value for both fans and aspiring authors in the supernatural genre.
