Journey on a trip back in time as you explore the 1600s and the curse that haunts this era.

Synopsis: In the early 17th century, innocent young Persephone is falsely accused and put on trial for her life. Her fate seems sealed except for the timely intervention of the mysterious Reverend Mother offering her not just sanctuary, but hope. For the Reverend Mother is the self-appointed leader of a small religious retreat, a secluded Priory, where her fellow Sisters devote their lives to the Lord and seek atonement for their pasts. But upon arrival, Persephone is plagued with terrifying visions and soon realizes that it’s not salvation that awaits but a battle for her very soul itself.

Initially, when I had witnessed the possessed soul crab-walk, scaling the vertical wall in a backward direction – I nearly lost my shit. Gripping my seat with anticipation and fear, I was heavily intrigued to further learn the backstory of this film. As the trailer progresses on in rapid succession, it becomes evident that nuns are neither protected, nor valued and they must fight to survive. Furthermore, The Convent seems quite appealing to me for it’s composure of a bleak and gritty setting and visuals, which in turn makes the film much more successful.
